The words sprayed out on these pages are a beautiful collection of poems about the author’s own personal experience with heartbreak and healing. Strung together to create a poetry book about navigating the unforgiving world of being a teenager whilst growing up. Entails topics of first love, being in love, friendship breakups, relationships, crushes, falling out of love, heartache, everything in between and so much more. This book was born from the quiet spaces— the ones I once filled with longing, with loss, with the ache of ‘almost's’ and the silence that followed. It is a love letter to my younger self, to the woman who cried, healed, reached, and returned. These poems are made of memory and sensation: the sound of a goodbye, the scent of someone no longer near, the taste of hope slowly rising again. Each piece you’ll read is a fragment of who I was, and who I became. Each line is a step back to myself. The words painted on these pages are heavy, they are deeper than they appear. They touch and speak on mental health struggles such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation and more. Explicit language is utilized. The cause of these painful moments started back in 2013, but after a decade and some change later these beautiful poems are the effects of what’s left. Most if not all of these poems were in my pre-healing era…stay tuned for the post-healing era creations. Which have blossomed from my heart and transformed into my self-expression of art.
